RCB Design rezone, 2675 North

RCB Design has asked Layton to rezone 1.57 acres at 181 and 215 West 2675 North from CP-2 (planned community commercial) to M-1 (light manufacturing and industrial). The two lots already hold flex industrial buildings put up in the last few years, and the business plans to assemble trade-show walls and displays there. Manufacturing is allowed in M-1 but not in CP-2, which is the reason for the request; the city says storage, production and assembly would all happen indoors with no outdoor storage. M-1 land lies to the north and east, CP-2 to the west and a mobile-home zone (RM-H) to the south. Staff say the change fits the general plan's flex-space and light-manufacturing guidance, and the Planning Commission voted unanimously on Sept. 22 to recommend approval. The council held a public hearing on Ordinance 26-28 on Oct. 15; the vote is not in a posted record yet.

Every hearing and vote

  1. October 15, 2026 · City Council

RCB Design rezone at 181 and 215 West 2675 North (Ordinance 26-28)

    Pending

The applicant asks to rezone about 1.57 acres at 181 and 215 West 2675 North from CP-2 (Planned Community Commercial) to M-1 (Light Manufacturing/Industrial) so a business can do light production and assembly of trade-show displays indoors in existing flex buildings, with no outdoor storage. The Planning Commission voted unanimously on Sept. 22, 2026 to recommend approval, and staff supports it. The city engineer's memo puts the two parcels at about 1.566 acres, so the 1.57 figure is rounded. Only a recommendation is shown; the council's Oct. 15 vote is not in the packet.
