Orem

Elected officials

Orem's mayor and City Council members since 2020: what each has disclosed on state conflict-of-interest forms, who gave to their campaigns, and every council vote recorded in the minutes, each linked to the record it comes from.

How these profiles work. Votes come from the council minutes as summarized on our council meeting pages, which link the official minutes. Our vote records start in January 2020, so earlier terms are listed but their votes are not counted. Orem's mayor is a voting member of its seven-member council. The minutes' tallies count the six council members and record the mayor's vote beside them ("6-0; Mayor McCandless also voted yes"), so our tallies read the same way, and the mayor's profile counts each vote the minutes record. Disclosures and campaign contributions are as written on the forms the city posts. A listed interest or contribution is a public record, not a finding of wrongdoing.

Correction, Oct. 16, 2026: An earlier version said Orem's mayor votes only to break a tie and gave the mayors' profiles no voting record. Orem's mayor votes on every council item; the mayors' profiles now list each vote the minutes record. Richard F. Brunst's mayoral service, earlier listed as starting in 2018, began in 2014.
