Clinton West Focus Area Plan

Clinton is drafting a plan for its far northwest corner so it has answers ready when developers ask what can go there. The focus area runs along the city's western edge near 4500 West, from 1800 North to just north of 2425 North, and West Point wraps around it. The consultant, Psomas, drafted a land-use concept with a mix of detached homes, small-lot and some attached homes spread through the area, civic uses near 2425 North, and open space along the power-line and drainage corridors. Staff recommend the council adopt it as an addendum to the general plan. A plan like this guides later zoning decisions but is not itself a rezoning, an approval of any development, or a promise of utilities. The council discussed the draft at a work session on Oct. 13, and the packet shows no vote or final boundary map.

Clinton West Focus Area Plan (general plan addendum)

    Pending

Staff recommends approving the plan as an addendum to the general plan. It would set a future land use map for the northwest part of the city, largely the West Clinton annexation area. Staff says adoption would help it answer development inquiries and plan infrastructure. Consultant Psomas prepared an accompanying document with economic analysis and plans for surrounding areas.
