Paragonah at a glance

Iron County · Utah

Paragonah’s agricultural roots reach back to families who cultivated land beside Red Creek while living in nearby Parowan. The Utah State Archives describes their move to the new settlement by 1852 and its early Red Creek name. Incorporation followed in 1916, much later than the first farming households.

The town’s present municipal introduction continues to emphasize a rural agricultural way of life. New-resident information, contacts, payment guidance and community announcements provide practical resources alongside that history. The archival account also follows the development of town utilities, but its older service descriptions should be read as history rather than as a statement of current providers or connection requirements.
