Wendover

Wendover at a glance

Tooele County · Utah

Wendover sits on Utah’s western border, distinct from West Wendover across the Nevada state line. The city describes its beginnings as a railroad town, while the nearby historic airfield adds a much larger twentieth-century chapter to the community’s story.

Wendover’s military airfield trained bomber crews during World War II and was connected with the 509th Composite Group. The National Park Service interprets that wartime history, separate from the city’s everyday administration. Municipal utilities, building permits and council records belong with Wendover, Utah, so the state line matters when looking for the right service or public record.
