Newton at a glance

Cache County · Utah

Newton’s history is intertwined with Clarkston’s. The town’s own account traces settlement to 1869 and describes families moving to the new location near the Bear River. The name grew out of that idea of a new town, while Clarkston continued as a separate community.

The municipal history places Newton Reservoir to the north and Cutler Reservoir to the south. In town, the library, parks and veterans memorial appear among the community resources on the municipal website. Residents can also find utilities, newsletters and public notices there, connecting the local history with the everyday services and civic records of this Cache County town.
