Sigurd at a glance

Sevier County · Utah

Sigurd has a place in Sevier County’s gypsum and building-products history. The Utah State Library’s county history connects the town with the manufacture of plaster and plasterboard, giving this Sevier Valley community an industrial story alongside the region’s farming and livestock traditions.

The Utah State Archives preserves a separate record of local civic life in its inventory of Sigurd town-board minutes. That collection is held by the State Archives, rather than being a visitor attraction in town. Current municipal notices and contacts have their own state public-body listing, giving residents a route to recent council business alongside the historical sources. Sigurd posts regular and special council notices on its state public-body listing. Open the individual notice for agenda text when no attachment appears; the historical town-board minutes collection listed in this guide is a separate archive and should not be used as the current meeting schedule.
