Aurora

Aurora at a glance

Sevier County · Utah

Aurora began as Willow Bend near a curve in the Sevier River. Utah’s History to Go describes settlement in 1875 and the importance of irrigation canals to making farming possible. It also preserves differing explanations for the Aurora name.

School and performance buildings are another thread in the state’s account of community life. For current city business, Aurora’s Utah Public Notice Website listing provides a separate government resource with contacts and available notices. Reading those records alongside the historical account offers a way to understand this northern Sevier Valley community without assuming that an old building, service description or population estimate remains current.
