Southern Utah

Office held

County AttorneyMillard CountySource

Background

Patrick Finlinson served as Millard County attorney before announcing his resignation effective September 30, 2024. By October 2026, a Utah State Bar announcement identified him as an assistant attorney general in the Utah Attorney General’s Office and a nominee for a Fourth District Court vacancy. His professional directory profile lists a 1997 bachelor’s degree from Utah State University, a 2000 law degree from the University of Utah and admission to the Utah bar in 2000. It describes experience in natural-resources, property, water, probate and adoption law. A Utah State Bar notice dated October 15, 2026 lists Patrick Finlinson, an assistant attorney general in the Office of the Utah Attorney General, among six nominees for two Fourth District Court vacancies. A nomination is not an appointment, and the notice does not say whether he has been selected.
