Jason C. Nelson was appointed to the Second District Court in 2023. After a judicial clerkship, he worked as a Davis County deputy attorney from 2008 to 2023, including leadership of its General Felonies Division. He earned history and law degrees at Brigham Young University. The court's biography says Nelson was the Davis County Attorney's Office's primary domestic violence prosecutor from 2009 to 2018 and chief of its General Felonies Division from 2019 to 2023. Governor Spencer Cox appointed him to the Second District Court in January 2023.
