Background
Brian Johnson is mayor of Rush Valley. He first became mayor in September 2008, when the town filled a midterm vacancy. A tied council vote was resolved by drawing a name, according to the Tooele Transcript Bulletin’s account of the following year’s mayoral campaign. The newspaper identified Johnson as an engineer working at Dugway in 2009. During that campaign, he emphasized protecting Rush Valley’s rural character and ensuring that development reflected limited resources, particularly water. County records also list him as a municipal representative on the Boundary Commission for a term ending January 3, 2026.
