Background
Bill Wright, mayor of Payson, brought a long law-enforcement career to municipal office. In a 2025 Utah League of Cities and Towns board-nomination questionnaire, he described himself as a retired officer with 37 years of service and said he had served nearly eight years as mayor. The same questionnaire identifies him as a graduate of FBI National Academy Class 229.
