Becky Bogdin represents District 3 on the Provo City Council following her election in 2023. Her current term expires in January 2028. She earned an accounting degree with a Portuguese minor from Utah State University. Provo’s official biography identifies her as a longtime West Provo resident with experience on the Police Advisory Board and in neighborhood representation. [1]
Neighborhood leadership
Bogdin’s campaign biography describes service as Lakewood neighborhood chair, southwest and westside area representative, and a neighborhood district board member. Earlier work included the Franklin PTA treasury and newsletter. She says those assignments involved collecting residents’ views, documenting meetings and presenting concerns to planning commissioners, staff and elected officials, including residents outside her own immediate neighborhood. [2]
Parks and traffic safety
She identifies two neighborhood matching grants used for Lakewood Park playground equipment and speed signs on 500 West. She also describes filing to change Lakewood Park’s zoning to an open-space and recreation designation. Her campaign account lists advocacy for crossings and traffic controls in Franklin and Sunset, providing specific examples of the neighborhood work that preceded her council election. [2]
Budget and community approach
Bogdin links her accounting training to examining city spending and keeping taxes affordable while maintaining services. Her campaign materials emphasize hearing different perspectives before making decisions and helping residents navigate city processes. She also organized neighborhood service projects and holiday activities intended to bring residents together. These are her descriptions of her experience and priorities, rather than claims that every proposed improvement was enacted by the council. [2]
