Background
Angela Adams MacKay was appointed to the Fifth District Juvenile Court in 2024. She previously worked as a guardian ad litem, prosecuted juvenile cases for Washington County and maintained an adoption practice. She earned degrees at Utah State University and BYU's law school. The court's biography says MacKay was a guardian ad litem attorney in the Fourth and Fifth districts from 1998 to 2003, then prosecuted juvenile cases for the Washington County Attorney's Office and ran a private adoption practice from 2003 until she joined the bench. She served on the Juvenile Justice Oversight Executive Committee from 2021 to 2024.
