Ogden

A free Halloween event in Ogden is set for Saturday, Oct. 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Ogden 5-points parking lot by the Hive Trampoline Park, FOX 13 reported. The event has drawn hundreds of people and is in its 12th year. [1]

Organizer Mark Ryan said he started it after taking his kids trick-or-treating and finding few homes with lights on. He said he worked with friends and local businesses to put together a safe event, which includes business booths, trunk decorating contests and monster trucks. [1]

This year's event is held in honor of Ryan's son Cayden, whose favorite tradition it was, Ryan told FOX 13. "We're pushing suicide awareness and men's mental health," Ryan said. "Trying to break the stigma and let everybody know it's okay to not be okay." [1]

Ryan said that if children are still in line at 5 p.m., organizers will keep going until the candy runs out. His family helps run the event. [1]
