Park City

Nordstrom Rack opened its Park City store Thursday at Junction Commons, drawing a crowd to a grand opening that included a drawing for a $1,000 gift card, the Park Record reported. The doors opened at 9 a.m. at the 25,000-square-foot store, and Sergio Vargas won the gift card at the 8:45 a.m. drawing in front of about 100 people. [1]

Cheri Botiz, senior vice president of Nordstrom Rack West stores, said the opening is the first Nordstrom launch in the area in 10 years. About 1,500 people registered for an early shopping window Tuesday evening. Before Kimball Junction, the nearest Nordstrom Rack was in Sugar House, at least a 25-minute drive from the Park City area. [1]

The store carries many of the same brands as Nordstrom stores and offers pickup and returns for online orders from nordstrom.com and nordstromrack.com. Botiz said the Park City location will also stock items suited to the climate, such as puffer coats and boots. It is one of 25 new Nordstrom Rack stores opening across the country this fall. [1]

Adam Greenebaum, senior vice president of Singerman Real Estate, which owns Junction Commons, said the retailer further solidifies the outdoor center as a premier shopping destination. The store follows the opening of Tosh's Ramen at Junction Commons earlier this month. It is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. [1]
