A Veterans Day program will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 at the Alpine Tabernacle on Main Street in American Fork, the Lehi Free Press reported. The event is free, lasts about an hour and is open to the public whether or not attendees have served in the military. [1]

Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Jefferson S. Burton will give the keynote address. Burton retired from the Utah National Guard in 2019 after 37 years of service, the last seven as Utah's adjutant general. The Timpanogos Chorale, directed by Andrew Wheelwright, will perform, including the national anthem, "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and an Armed Forces Medley. [1]

This year's theme is "Defending Freedom for 250 Years." Near the end of the program, organizers will read an honor roll of more than 30 veterans buried in the American Fork Cemetery. Fifth-grade classes from the city's five elementary schools have been invited. "The whole idea of the program is to honor and salute the veterans," program committee member Kevin Barnes told the Free Press. A large parking lot is next to the tabernacle. [1]
