Sand Hollow Reservoir is one of the warmest lakes in Utah, with clear water lapping at red sandstone islands and beaches. It is a favorite for boating, swimming, paddleboarding and cliff jumping, and the fishing is good for bass and bluegill. The park brochure warns that climbing on rocks and jumping or diving from them is hazardous and done at your own risk.

Next to the lake, Sand Mountain offers thousands of acres of dunes for off-highway vehicles, with rentals and guided tours nearby. The park’s campgrounds fill on spring weekends.
