Sun Hills is privately operated but open to the public in Layton. Its 18-hole layout follows rolling terrain, with a range and putting and chipping greens. An indoor simulator runs from November through March. Book online up to seven days ahead or by phone up to five days ahead; Friday-to-Sunday morning nine-hole starts from 6 to 11 a.m. are taken by phone 48 hours ahead. An online account needs a card on file, which is not charged at booking, and the course asks you to call at least two hours ahead if anyone in your group cannot play. On weekends and holidays each group is limited to two carts and spectators must walk.
