Strata Networks traces its history to 1948, when residents of remote parts of the Uintah Basin formed a cooperative to bring telephone service to their homes. The company says the existing provider had declined to serve those areas. Headquartered in Roosevelt, Strata offers internet, wireless and voice services and describes work deploying municipal fiber networks elsewhere in Utah. [1] [2]
Strata describes a member-governed cooperative whose eligible members can vote and run for board seats. In an October 7, 2026 announcement, it named Beau Hancock as its next CEO, effective November 19, 2026, following Bruce H. Todd’s planned retirement. That effective date was still in the future when these sources were checked on October 19, 2026. [1] [2]
Strata also runs a subsidiary business. At its annual meeting on June 4, 2026, the cooperative described Spectra as a Strata subsidiary, and Spectra says it was founded in January 2014 to provide information-technology, operational-technology and Internet-of-Things management and consulting. Strata says it and its subsidiaries together employ nearly 350 people. These are the company's own descriptions. [3]
